Is this to be believed folks?

I only caught the headlines and havent heard the PMs explanations

It was only there for the big bosses to undermine and underpay

Poor bastards would have been made to work double the hours in terrible conditions or threatened to be sent off on the next ship

    Meh it's just politics.
New 457s will stop or be restricted in terms. Existing still ok?
The illegals will still do it.
Then you've got the deal with China allowing their cereal box qualified tradies to work on new Chinese construction projects.
    There's always something.

Rebranding. Before March 2018 it is to be replaced with a new temporary skilled visa.

Critics already pointing out that the change fails to address the original reason for the change - it is not about covering shortage of skill in Australia, it is about underpaying migrants for jobs Australians charge more to do.

Turns out, Australia is quite OK with slavery.

Sure starting to look that way. What else would you expect from a Liberal government.

Step one, work hard to circumvent trade unions and penalty rates (while telling the people "it is good for them".... sounds familiar?...lol).

Step two, flood the country with cheap labor while keeping all big business friends happy and smiling, ready to push the party into next term.

    Rinse and repeat...

Employers sideline unions by using labour hire or other glorified recruitment agencies. The roles are temporary, casual, on call. They can get rid of you simply and legally if your face does not fit. It has been this way for quite some time now even without 457.

I wounder if the visa changes would have any considerable affect on the number of Uber drivers.
