    so obvious.

Asked first if i made much money in this gig and then asked if i felt exploited by uber - cheap labour.

    I didn't take the bait.

Then he goes on to say that he things uber is too cheap, and gives an example that if a taxi charges $30, uber charges $10 but he thinks uber should charge $20.

    Still I didn't flinch.

I smelt mole all over him.

As he left I muttered under my breath, if you're so happy to pay more, then where's my tip asshole...

You should have told this guy the truth. I always do. We feel very exploited here in Melbourne. I do tell to any pax that asks.

Sydney rates are 30% better so i can understand why you may feel differently. It may not be as bad as Melbourne.

no one cares mate, that's the thing.
why risk getting baited by uber themselves or someone who reports back to them that said driver is spreading pessimism?
it's not going to make any difference.
    only strike action will.

I had a funny coincidence today. Had a lady with two kids in the car and she was asking the same questions. She said that she read we are being mistreated and it is all over the news. Asked me if it was true. I told her hell yea... and gave her our story.

    No tip though...

    Isn't that the best bit?
They act all sympathetic but then can't fork out a penny more in a tip...

Tipping is a big thing in the US. Here's in Oz not so much. That's why people don't tip. I never tip when eat out.

Tipping was definitely a taxi thing in melbourne
Not sure what the gooba culture has done to it
Might have to stop tipping hospitality myself soon
