Real-time rider location

About time they brought this "new feature" back. Was availabe back in the early days

 

Not all riders use it. I noticed that most don't.

 

Do you need to be using Uber Maps to see real time location of riders? Because of the 300 or so trips since they introduced the feature I have not seen the flashing blue dot ever.

 

I think it shows up on the Uber app (map) once you get close to pick up. I didnt see it on waze, i don't use GM at all.

I've seen the rider location message come up in less than 5% of trips. Most pax don't use it.
