Mitsubishi Outlander 2.0 LS

There is a known problem with the centre console (sound system, car settings) restarting randomly. The restart follows a popping noise towards the rear of the vehicle. Mitsubishi advise they are aware of the problem but no fix is available.
Does anyone else have this problem?

 

Driver side rear seatbelt buckle broken 2 weeks after buying the vehicle new, replaced under warranty, broken again 8 days later. It still works but some riders perceive it is unsafe.

 

Broken twice, WOW. Not to mention the waste of time and the likelihood of pax bad ratings. Time is definitely money when it comes to Uber driving.

Sure sound like a design defect which will probably happen again. I would have asked to return the car and go shop for some other model if it happens 3rd time.
