Why no surge?

this am I had 3 pings 1 x 10 mins away 1 x 12 mins and 1 x19 mins away. None was a surge and I didn't bother accepting them. Was cut off as per usual. Then went back on and got 7 min which was fine.
Can't understand if they are that far away why it's not surging to encourage drivers to pick up!
    Another Uber Fail! IMHO

Surge here in Melbourne was almost completely off in the last few days.

Do you think that's Uber getting its own back on the drivers because of the strike? I wouldn't put it past them.
Very little surge in Perth now a days. Starting to think we have more drivers than riders!

Surge has been subdued here for a while. Way before any strikes. The rumour on the street is they are trying to get rid of surge altogether or at least get it down to the the very bare minimum.
