Completed a short trip from the airport today (in-app notification my position in the queue would be held for 12 hours), returned to the airport queue and got booted to the end. Breach of contract? Will be seeking legal advice if I don't get an acceptable response.
We've seen a number of similar reports from other drivers. Just how short the "eligible" trip may be is another one of Uber's best kept secrets. Uber gets to decide if/when they will keep your que. In your case they actually poped a message notifying you they are going to hold the que. Have you tried contacting Uber? They now have a support number. Give it a go. Please keep us updated with thier reply. 1300 091 272
Message back form support was that I completed a trip so I was removed from the queue. As usual they have not read my message before responding.
Happens over here in Perth to. It's bullshit. Pick up an Airport worker, transfer him/her from one spot to the nxt. Don't even leave the Airport grounds. Put in a complaint and no feedback given.
Almost a week later and I am still awaiting it to be passed on to a "specialised team". I don't have any idea what remedy they're going to come up with anyway, at the end of the day, I lost money, but I bet I don't get any money in return. In saying that, the phone help was very considerate, quick and easy.
Im starting to think this airport short trip thing was just another Uber lie and a media spin. I had the same happen to me after a short 6km trip. My que was not kept and i was placed right at the end of the line "100+". Bustards!
