Over $22,000 in expenses and there's still 3 months to go.

I really needed to vent my frustation at this.

Has anyone else noticed a similar pattern of expenses for themselves?

Are you driving full time? Unless you've had some accidents, I can't see where you've racked up that many expenses.

Perhaps a new car under $20k? As long as you've got your receipts and can claim a decent portion of it then you should be fine. If you've got that many expenses then your income would be well over $100k from Uber.

i don't think accidents can be counted as a tax deduction....

unless you are not at fault.

can anyone shed some light upon this?

it's mostly fuel, my commodore vtii supercharger car guzzles it

I would think if you have accident repairs you can claim the same % as you used for all your expenses based on your logbook. I'm not an accountant, but would have expected all expenses can be claimed the same way.

That's a lot of fuel, using premium 98?

  10. Depreciation on my car is $4000. So I am not surprised at these figures. I haven't done mine yet, very lazy, usually takes me till October to do it. I haven't paid any GST yet, waiting for a letter from the tax office. Have you all received those letters? I have read on UP that some have and some haven't. Hard to know who to believe over there.
