I drive infrequently. I pick up UberX and Uber Select Riders when offered. Twice, in recent times, I have picked up a Rider and they told me that they were upgraded from UberX to Uber Select. If I was the only car in the location at the time I would have picked the Rider up as an UberX anyway. It seems to me that Uber are taking advantage of Partners with cars that meet the Uber Select criteria and using them to promote the Select Class of travel. The Rider is happy of course but the Partner gets nothing extra.
